The lobster drawing was created from a combination of reference photos on Pixabay, while the trawler painting was from a supplied photograph.
I quite often start drawings and then put them to one side for a while before going back and finishing them. I started this drawing earlier this year at a local pastels workshop, using my own reference photos that I'd taken of a black swan cygnet in Dawlish in 2017.

I’ve had a great week for finishing creative projects, and I am especially pleased to have completed this one! I started this pyrography quite a while ago, and have worked on it around a variety of other projects.
I started this at an art workshop in Norfolk last week, and I used Instagram and Tumblr to share a couple of 'work in progress' photos which kept me motivated to finish this one in good time! I used my own photo, taken at Colchester Zoo in 2017, as reference for this drawing.

This week I started a new pyrography challenge, working on a 37x37cm plywood sheet, with the aim of reproducing a photograph of an owl I took at Suffolk Owl Sanctuary in August this year (shown in one of the photos). More pictures will be uploaded as it progresses!
