Making the most of the very rare opportunity of a sunny and mild Bank Holiday Monday, I visited Suffolk Owl Sanctuary for the first time this year. As I had already visited the Sanctuary a couple of times last year, I had an idea of what birds they had, and where they flew them. This … Continue reading Suffolk Owl Sanctuary
Earlier this year I was asked to create a personalised 'elephant themed' jewellery box: As I had an idea in mind for the type of image I wanted to work from, I did some research online to see whether any local zoos or wildlife parks had young elephants. After a very cold day in January … Continue reading ‘Elephants’ gift box
I had the chance to test my photography skills in a very different setting earlier this month, when a colleague within the university requested my help in taking some photos for an event that was being run during 'Do Something Different Week' in February. 'The Art and Science of Murder' was a murder mystery event, … Continue reading Impromptu Photoshoot at UEA
I had a few opportunities to get out and about with my camera over the Christmas period, including another photographic wander with a local group, and a few photos of Winter Solstice, which have been included in a separate post.

While doing some research, I stumbled across various photographers pages and groups with 365-Day Photo Projects, each posting a photo a day online. I thought I would have a go at doing this myself as I find it hard to strike a balance between either taking far too many photos or struggling to get inspired! … Continue reading 365 Day Photo Project
Halloween Pumpkin Carving Unfortunately due to a busy couple of weeks with other commitments, I have not made as much progress with my owl pyrography as I would have liked...though I did find the time this evening to join my housemate in some Hallowe'en pumpkin carving! I carved an owl into mine, while Jon carved … Continue reading Hallowe’en Pumpkins and Pyrography…

This time I took my Samsung Gx-1L, and a Nikon D7000 along with me - and … Continue reading More Owls, Squirrels and Meerkats…
