As I had already visited the Sanctuary a couple of times last year, I had an idea of what birds they had, and where they flew them. This helped me hugely when looking at camera adjustments: such as which lens to use and which settings; particularly when switching between photographing the owls flying outside versus inside their shelters!
I also had my sketchbook with me with the intention of doing some sketching, but I ended up getting a bit carried away with taking photographs. The resulting images may well provide me with the basis for some charcoal or pastel drawings in the near future as I work through my drawing course!
